About me
I have been an art educator for 15 years and have taught from Kindergarten thru Junior College. I am currently teaching K-12 for Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative and have done so for the past 13 years. My students have special needs from 5 surrounding districts and they LOVE to paint on the walls! To date our Mades Johnstone School has 8 murals and counting along with several other beautification projects Cooperative wide. More than just painting on a wall, I believe murals teach lessons in collaboration, planning and hard work. The values of teamwork and perseverance are forefront. Students do not just take chances but embrace challenges and celebrate each other in doing so. Also, it is just plain FUN!
